Course Information

PRMPM06B (Unit 6) is a pre-requisite for PRMPM10B (Unit 10).
Please note: To complete this course you need to possess unit PRMPM06B.
If you do not have unit 6 you will need to contact RAPID Training for information regarding this unit of competency.
Completing the Course
This intensive course has been designed to be completed in 8 weeks or less. All students have 12 months to complete the course before re-enrolling. It should be understood that Australian Standard AS 4349.3 recommends that Timber Pest Inspectors be trained and competent in Timber Pest Inspection and Management. The Current AS 3660-2000 series recommends that you have Units 8 & 10 as a minimum competency. For this purpose the student will be asked to complete a log-book to record inspections and treatments.
There are two main methods of completing this course.
External Studies
This asks the student to work from home, office or any site the student chooses. It offers greater flexibility however students should have a strong liaison with both a workplace coach and RAPID Training, when using this method. External students can either apply for a complete Assessment or present the required knowledge and skills as a video assessment. In this case the assessor will view the video and may be satisfied with the candidate’s performance. Alternatively the assessor may ask residual questions and/or ask for more evidence.
Each module has a set of assignments and/or projects to be completed and sent in for marking. The assignments will be marked by qualified persons and returned to the candidate with comments. Assignments with favourable comments can be then used by the candidate as documentary evidence for support at their Final Practical Assessment.
Student Support
As this training program is completed through distance education there will be significant amounts of reading and writing involved in working though the training modules and assessments. There is also a certain level of mathematical skill required in some of the modules. If you believe you may need assistance with your training in the areas of reading, writing or maths please mark the appropriate box on the enrolment form. Please note these forms and the information contained therein remain confidential with Rapid Training Pty Ltd.
